The California Global Warming Solutions Act 2006

If you haven't already heard, California is the next big thing. So the U.S. didn't sign the Kyoto treaty a few years back thanks to President Bush (II)...but neither did Clinton when he was in the presidency, so really this isn't so much a party issue as it is digging into their pockets for a few spare quarters. Besides, really only 2 out of the 13 countries that signed onto this treaty are in compliance now. That's where California steps in as being the first state in the nation to pass legislation geared towards cutting down on CO2 emissions in relation to global warming. They're hoping with this spark of initiative that other states will follow suit. If all goes well, maybe they can adopt a plan similar to California's.
